I gotta admit: I have a huge weakness for a good underdog story.I was reading this newsletter that Cindy and I get from the Best Friends Animal Society and came across the story of this little puppy who overcame quite a handicap.

The puppy, whose name is Dash, was born with a genetic deformity in which the growth of his ligaments couldn’t keep up with the growth of his bones. His front legs eventually became bowed and he was unable to walk. Dash was abandoned by his owners, and ended up at an animal shelter.

Best Friends rescued Dash and veterinarians were able to fix his front legs. He can now run around just like any other crazy puppy. Dash has since been adopted, too.

It’s great to see that they didn’t give up on him. It warms my heart to see a story like that.
